Covid higher education proclamation to expire Oct. 31, 2022 / Message from the President

Governor Inslee announced last month that the State of Washington will be ending its remaining COVID-19 emergency orders and state of emergency by Oct. 31. 天堂社区 has reviewed the state’s guidance and will be making the following changes to the College’s current COVID-19 protocols, effective Nov. 1, 2022:

天堂社区 will resume normal in person operating hours Monday, Sept. 6. Proof of vaccination, or approved exemption, is still required for all on campus classes, activities, work, or services. The College recommend mask wearing and will require masks in certain situations or locations. Faculty may require masking for their individual classes and will notify their students if masks will be required prior to the first day of their in-person class.

Ha Nguyen named Vice President of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Ha Nguyen was recently announced as 天堂社区's new Vice President of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Ha has over twenty years of experience in Washington State’s community and technical college (CTC) system and is fiercely dedicated to ensuring equitable access and supports for our students of color and other systemically minoritized students. Ha will join 天堂社区 on August 16, 2022.

President Biden to Visit 天堂社区 Friday, April 22

President Joe Biden will be visiting 天堂社区 this Friday, April 22, as part of his official visit to Washington State. During his visit to our campus, President Biden plans to meet with a number of elected officials in our area and a limited number of members of our college community – especially students. The President will also provide remarks in the Mel Lindbloom Student Union.

Spring quarter update / Message from the president

GRC will no longer require masking while on campus, effective April 4. The College continues to encourage mask wearing and will require masks in certain situations or locations. Winter Quarter 2022 Updates and Information

To foster a successful start to the winter quarter, most classes and student support services will be held online Jan. 3-14.

Message from the President / GRC vaccination update

After reviewing the requirements extensively, and at the recommendation of the GRC Reopening Committee, 天堂社区 will become a vaccinated college. As a vaccinated college, all students, staff, and faculty must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless they are claiming a medical, religious, or philosophical exemption. This decision was made because vaccination is the best way to protect the health and safety of our campus community.
